Amorphous Solar Panels are ideal for portable solar applications as they offer greater resistance to shade and are often tougher and more durable. Due to their strong nature, they are perfect for motor homes, caravans, 4WD's and boats.

A great characteristic of Amorphous panels are that they are shade resistant which means that their output doesn't drop significantly when part of the module is covered by shade. They also offer a better performance in higher temperatures for optimum energy efficiency.

To increase their convenience, they can also be made flexible which allows them to be perfect for camping, charging laptops and other portable devices. They are often lightweight and can fold down to fit into suitcases and backpacks. Amorphous solar cells are a special type of solar cell, and their unique microscopic manufacturing process makes them highly versatile. The silicon used in amorphous solar panels is not very crystalline or rigid in nature. They are usually created by applying doped silicon material to the back of a plate of glass. The cells usually appear dark brown on the sun-facing side and silvery on the conductive side. When produced as a solar panel, it will appear to have several thin parallel lines running across its surface.

Perfect for portable and outdoor applications there are a variety of flexible solar panels available on the market which can be easily stored in a backpack and be taken on the go. Amorphous panels are mostly 12v to cater for 12v applications such as motor homes and boats. They can be linked together in a series to create a 24v systems, or even higher if necessary.
